Deadline to apply for 2009-2010 class:
May 2009

Leadership New York (LNY) is Coro’s unique part-time civic leadership program for mid-career professionals from the private, public, and non-profit sectors.

Now entering its 20th year, the program brings together a cohort of diverse individuals for a nine-month, experiential exploration of leadership and the City.

Leadership New York participants will:

  • Gain an insider’s view of how NYC institutions shape policy decisions
  • Interact with key players from across sectors
  • Learn to ask probing questions
  • Develop their ability to communicate and build consensus
  • Expand their network in the public, private, and non-profit sectors

From September to May, participants challenge their personal approaches to leadership while going behind the scenes to examine different perspectives of New York City’s complex public policy questions, developing personal leadership skills, and learning from a diverse group of peers. Each class of Leadership New York reflects a diversity of racial, ethnic, gender, professional, and political backgrounds.
