Deadline to apply for 2009 class:
November 14, 2008

Coro’s Immigrant Civic Leadership Program (ICLP), previously named the New American Leaders fellowship program, enhances the capacity of leaders working in immigrant communities.

The Immigrant Civic Leadership Program is generously supported by The American Express Foundation, Con Edison, MetLife Foundation, The New York Community Trust, Western Union Foundation, and other contributors.

Participants of the Immigrant Civic Leadership Program participate in an intensive half-year program through which they:

  • Gain an insider’s view of how NYC works
  • Interact with leaders from across sectors
  • Learn strategies that shape effective public policy
  • Cultivate leadership skills
  • Build lasting relationships and learn from other leaders

Participants in this part-time, six-month program develop advanced strategies and skills for expanding opportunities for immigrants and for shaping public policy decisions that affect immigrant communities and NYC. From January to June, 24 participants also examine their own approaches to operating as leaders and engines of change.
